Que Sera Sera

Que Sera Sera

We are often tempted to think that God already mapped out happenings in our world, and that we can only do little or nothing to change the course of the tide. Infact, we have been made to believe that because this world is not our own, God is also not concerned about the happenings that are claiming several lives on daily basis. We are eager to adjudge all disasters as fulfilment of end time prophecies. This has led to the gross and unpardonable negligence of the church towards the advancement of God’s kingdom on earth.

Silent but loud erroneous posture of the Church today is: whatever Will be, Will be! (Que Sera Sera)

Instead of the que sera sera posture, the church should rather embrace true pursuit of scripture fulfilment in the light of God’s reign on earth and in our world today. Silently but obviously, the church had come to believe that the gospel will get to the ends of the earth whether we do something about it or not.

On the contrary, it is necessary for us to know that we are God’s ambassadors on earth, and that we can enforce His kingdom to bring down His Will here on earth. We have been empowered and sent by the Lord to averse the evil in our world today.

We have a mandate to preach the gospel to all Nations and enforce the Will of the Father here on earth. Thy kingdom come o Lord should be our daily outcry. We can’t sit behind the TV set watching all the bad news without commensurate response from us.

For instance, some folks are musing at the war in Ukraine, Sudan, Gaza and Israel.  They say, “it’s the judgement of God”, few others say, “it’s fulfilment of end time prophecy. Well, that may be a fact, but the truth remains that many souls whom our Lord Jesus Christ died for are dying without being redeemed. It is not the Will of God to be seeing multitudes trooping into hell amongst the nations and families. The devil, and not God is the causative agent behind war and terrorism. Our God is a good God who desires that all men be saved.

God expects believers to rise and march into the nations as kingdom soldiers and ambassadors in order to bring down His rule upon the earth.

Jesus already paid the price for the over 8billion people on earth today, those that have died and those that are yet to be born. Why then should we sit and watch the price paid go unfulfilled in the lives of billions out there? Jesus demands a commensurate responsibility from us.

Jesus did not leave us in the dark. He pointed out our responsibilities in a very clear statement…

  • He asked us to Pray that God’s Kingdom and will be done on earth: Jesus did not come just to waste His life on humanity. God is really interested in humanity. That was the reason for which He sent His Son. God wants us to bring down His influence and rule upon the earth in the place of Prayer. We have a responsibility to Pray!
  • He asked us to go into the harvest field: Jesus told the disciples that the field is white already for harvest. He revealed His intention to Finish the work, hence, He told us to Go into all the world. He also pointed out that the gospel shall be preached in all the Nations of the earth as a witness. Don’t you think that you and I have been saddled with this responsibility of spreading this gospel to the uttermost part of the earth. We actually have a part to play. We have the “Go” mandate.
  • He asked us to give our All: The early Apostles and disciples gave their All to the course of the gospel without measure. Some sold their landed properties and possessions. The disciples laid their All at the Apostles’ feet. Churches gave to support the missionary work. The spread of the gospel needs men that will break their costly alabaster box at the feet of Jesus. God has deposited enough resources in His church today that could sufficiently take the gospel to all the Nations. The church is not lacking resources to spread the gospel, but willing hearts who will properly channel their resources in the right course. No time in history would mission work needs funding than Now.
  • He asked us to be watchful: The vigilante who is watching while others are sleeping always get to know what the time is. He knows how close the night is to the breaking of the day. When you are engaged in the spreading of the gospel; the truth is that you are on the watch. Thief does not come unaware on a man that is watchful. Such a man is not sleeping like others.

And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. (Mark 13:37).
